Kate McMahon is an ocean lover, adventure seeker and collector of extraordinary memories. Her 20+ years of career highlights span print and digital publications, media and omnichannel content marketing and production agencies.
It all began doing something she adores: surfing. After watching many of her friends compete on the world surfing tour, Kate wondered how she too could combine a career with her true love; she still has pinch marks from 2001 when she landed the dream job as editor of SurfGIRL magazine. The years following saw Kate mentored by some of the most successful people in publishing. She skyrocketed to hold the coveted position of editor or manager on 18 magazines across a wide range of interests – Disney Adventures, triple j, Rage 30th Anniversary, Dance Academy, Octonauts, Mardi Gras 40th Anniversary, Giggle & Hoot, Organic Gardener, Woolworths Fresh, and more.
In 2018, Kate advanced her digital content skills, holding a leadership position at Suddenly (a News Corp agency) as Woolworths Fresh editor. Every print issue was planned with an omnichannel strategy to feed multiple digital touchpoints for the Woolworths business.
The vibrant agency environment appeals to Kate. In 2022, she was thrilled to join the Senior Leadership team at L&A Social/Tag (an omnichannel content marketing, advertising and production agency) as Creative Account Director, where she thrived and achieved many goals over 14 months.
